Sky Hotels Acquires Sonesta in San Ramon, Launches Conversion to Courtyard by Marriott

Sky Hotels Inc. has acquired the Sonesta-flagged hotel located at 18090 San Ramon Valley Blvd in San Ramon, California, and has commenced a full renovation and brand conversion to Courtyard by Marriott.

The project scope includes a full repositioning of the guest rooms, corridors, public spaces, exterior, and signage, along with infrastructure upgrades to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life-safety systems — all sequenced to bring the asset online to Marriott Courtyard brand standard.

"This acquisition expands our East Bay presence and strengthens our Marriott portfolio," said a representative from Sky Hotels Inc. "We're investing in a market we know well, and converting the asset to a brand and operating model better suited to the corporate corridor it serves."

The property is currently undergoing renovation. Reopening as Courtyard by Marriott — San Ramon is targeted for October 2026.
